Visitors bureau website wins honors

The Travel Industry Association of Kansas has named the Shawnee Convention & Visitors Bureau website the best overall site in the state.
The association presented the award at the annual Kansas Tourism Conference in Kansas City, Kan.
A panel of independent advertising professionals judged the sites based on originality, design and technical features, according to an announcement from the association. Judges praised the site’s video, top attractions, readability, organization and design features.
Also at the conference, Shawnee Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Kevin Fern was elected to serve a three-year term on the association’s board of directors. He will chair the advocacy committee.
