Big Biscuit now serving in Shawnee

April 19, 2011

The Big Biscuit is now dishing up breakfast (and lunch) at 12276 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee.

The 4,500-square-foot restaurant opened Thursday in the Ten Quivira Plaza shopping center, co-owner David Offerdahl said. Offerdahl, of Columbia, Mo., owns it with Keith Carpenter, Iola, and Jay Carpenter, Humboldt.

The menu includes Big Biscuit’s signature biscuits and gravy, waffles, pancakes and omelets for breakfast, and Angus burgers, sandwiches and salads for lunch, Offerdahl said. The space features televisions and a meeting room.

Big Biscuit also has locations in Independence, Mo., and Blue Springs, Mo.

The Shawnee location is open from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. seven days a week. Reach the restaurant at (913) 912-7350.

According to bigbiscuitrestaurant.com, the restaurant prides itself on large portions and adheres to this philosophy: “Biscuits are good. Big biscuits are better.”
