Downtown grants available

The city of Shawnee is accepting applications for two remaining Downtown Improvement Grants for 2011.
Each year, a total of five $5,000 grants are available to businesses that spend at least $10,000 on exterior remodeling or new construction. Eligible improvements include façade restoration, window and door repair, masonry, awnings, signage, exterior lighting, painting, and landscaping.
