Marina opening soon for summer season

The Shawnee Mission Park Marina is scheduled to open daily for the summer season beginning May 28.

Prior to that date, the marina will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22.

The marina offers fishing permits and boat rentals, including canoes, pedal boats, kayaks and fishing boats. It operates on a cash-only basis. For rental rates, go online to jcprd.com/parks_facilities/permits_Admission_Rentals.cfm.

The park district’s other two marinas, Kill Creek Park and Heritage Park, also open for the summer on May 28. However, these marinas will be open on weekends only throughout the summer.
