Shawnee boutique unveils original clothing line

Classy, timeless and just right for any age or occasion.
That’s how Tamara Hudson describes the original clothing line she unveiled this month for her downtown Shawnee shop, Encore Unique Boutique.
Hudson said she commissioned a seamstress to create the clothing, labeled Laura’s Lines.
The styles are few, at least for now. There are two dresses — a 1950s-inspired cap-sleeve A-line and a jewel-neck sheath.
But the colors and patterns are many. Hudson said she planned to sell ready-to-wear dresses in all sizes in black. But she’ll have a book of fabrics customers can choose from for custom-made dresses (which can also be custom-fit, if needed).
Clothing from Laura’s Lines was featured in one of three trunk shows Encore planned for May 7, in conjunction with downtown Shawnee’s Beauty and the Best event.
