Shawnee chamber announces new mobile app

October 3, 2011

The Shawnee Chamber of Commerce has gone mobile.

The chamber today announced it has partnered with MetroMedia to create Go2Shawnee — a free application for Android, iPhone and Blackberries envisioned to connect users with the Shawnee community.

All chamber members receive a free listing in the app’s directory, which has geo-location and mapping technology so users can click to view their location on a map. Among other features, Go2Shawnee has the ability to search available commercial properties and member deals.

Users can download the app through their phone’s app market, or online at shawneekschamber.com/Go2Shawnee.htm.

“As a greater number of people use mobile technology, we have to make sure information is available to them in the way they prefer to find it,” Linda Leeper, chamber president and CEO, said in a news release. “That’s why we are so excited to be able to offer this additional benefit to our members and to the Shawnee community. The ability to easily access member, community and chamber information while on the go is a huge step in continuing to advance our vision.”
