A Shawnee firefighter who died in a May 2010 house fire will be one of six Kansas firefighters honored Sunday at the 30th annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service in Emmitsburg, Md., home of the National Fire Academy.
John Glaser was one of 72 U.S. firefighters who died while on duty in 2010, according to an announcement from the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which is planning the official national tribute with the Department of Homeland Security.
The Foundation plans to livestream Sunday’s ceremony online at weekend.firehero.org/media/live.html, beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern time.
