Oct. 22 to see two craft fairs in Shawnee
Lake Quivira Holiday Bazaar is next month
Two of Shawnee’s biggest craft fairs are planned this weekend.
The Shawnee Parks and Recreation Department’s 12th annual Holiday Treasures Craft Festival is planned for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Shawnee Civic Centre, 13817 Johnson Drive. Booth space is sold out, but admission is free.
The St. Joseph Ladies Guild Gift and Craft Bazaar is planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in McDevitt Hall at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Drive. The bazaar will include rosaries and other handmade religious items. The church’s garden club will provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon refreshments at a nominal cost.
Next month, a two-day craft fair is planned in neighboring Lake Quivira. The Lake Quivira Garden Club’s Holiday Bazaar is set for 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 17 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at Lake Quivira Country Club, 100 Crescent Blvd. The event will feature a cash bar, plus a performance by an Elvis Presley tribute artist on Nov. 17.
