September 7, 2011

The next family program connected with the Johnson County Museum’s immigration exhibit will focus on China.

New Immigrants and the American Dream: Spotlight on China is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the museum, 6305 Lackman Road.

CJ Wei, Kansas City Chinese American Association president and a Bejing native, will speak about his homeland. The free event also will feature Chinese stories, music and food.

The ongoing exhibit, which runs through May 20, showcases how immigration law has affected immigrants and how they pursue the American Dream in suburban communities across the United States, changing the face of those suburbs.
