Letter: Changes hard to swallow
To the editor,
I do not care for the new lunch changes and I have some comments to make.
First, I disagree with the half cup of fruit and vegetable rule. Other schools say take what you can eat, but at Prairie Ridge Elementary they say you have to take a fruit and vegetable. And my experience is that all the kids take a fruit and vegetable and just throw it away.
Secondly, the whole wheat bread sticks are really inedible because they are so hard that you could chip a tooth on one.
One day the food was so inedible that all I had for lunch were some pickles and milk.
And there aren’t any new sides, so every day I have to get the same thing over and over again.
The director of student nutrition may think the changes are going well, but they’re not.
So from now on I’m bringing my lunch to school.
