River City Baseball update: SM North, SM Northwest end weekend with losses

LAWRENCE — Shawnee Mission Northwest dropped a game in extra innings on Friday night losing to Warrensburg (Mo.), 12-9, at Hogland Park at Kansas University during the River City Baseball Festival.

The Cougars scored two in the seventh inning to tie the game up at six apiece, but Tigers came back in the 11th inning with six runs putting the game out of reach.

SM Northwest rallied for three runs in the bottom of the 11th, but could not come all the way back.

The Cougars also lost a game to Creighton Prep earlier in the day with a 10-1 loss at Lawrence Free State High School.

SM North also dropped its only game of the day to Bishop Miege by the score of 11-1.

After the weekend, the Cougars are 3-6 and the Indians are 2-8 on the season.
