Shawnee police search for Garrett Park flasher

August 12, 2013

— Shawnee police are investigating two reports of indecent exposure at Garrett Park, the department announced Monday.

The first incident occurred about 11:25 a.m. Saturday at the park, 22325 W. 47th St. in northwest Shawnee. A woman walking a paved trail in the park reported that a man on the trail pulled his shorts down to his ankles and exposed himself to her, said Maj. Bill Hisle, police spokesman.

The second incident occurred the morning of July 31, when a female walking in the park reported that a man appeared beside her and exposed himself, Hisle said.

Witnesses in both cases described the flasher as 18 to 25 years old, about 6 feet, 170 pounds, with tan or dark skin and close-cut dark hair, Hisle said. In both cases, the suspect was wearing shorts and wiping sweat from his brow with his shirt, and appeared to be just another park patron, Hisle added.

People with information about the crimes or suspect may call Shawnee police at 913-631-2155.
