Another Shawnee convenience store robbed

February 21, 2013

Shawnee police have reported the second armed robbery at a convenience store during the past two weeks.

At 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 20, police said, an armed black male reportedly entered the QuikTrip store at 11915 Johnson Drive and demanded money from the clerk.

The suspect then left on foot in an unknown direction, and a search for him was unsuccessful. He was described as being 6 feet 2 inches tall and about 200 pounds. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a dark ski mask or bandanna, sunglasses, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark gloves.

The Shawnee Police Department is investigating the possibility that the robbery is related to others that have occurred in the Johnson County area recently.

On Feb. 12, an armed black male robbed the new Temp Stop convenience store at 13515 W. 63rd St. shortly before 1 a.m.
