Big performances from Lichtenauer, Tripp lead MVHS girls to 56-28 win at BLHS
Basehor Senior Stephanie Lichtenauer scored 18 points and senior Tanner Tripp added 16 to keep the Mill Valley girls basketball team unbeaten in league play after Tuesday’s 56-28 victory at Basehor-Linwood.
The Jaguars (6-1, 5-0 in the KVL) went on a 15-1 run in the third quarter after forcing 14 turnovers and scored 10 points off offensive rebounds early in the game.
Lichtenauer also came up with more than a half dozen steals to generate easy points in transition and senior Brooklyn Sloop scored six of her eight points in the first quarter.
Senior Mackenzie Conklin added five points, including a three-pointer in the third quarter.
Tuesday’s MVHS victory — and Bonner Springs’ 49-37 win against Tonganoxie — sets up a showdown on Friday between the final two undefeated teams in league play. MVHS will travel to BSHS (7-1, 5-0 in the KVL) for a 5:45 p.m. tipoff.
