Parkway forum set for Feb. 6
An hourlong forum on the future of the Shawnee Mission Parkway corridor is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Hocker Grove Middle School, 10400 Johnson Drive.
Hosted by the Mid-America Regional Council and cities of Shawnee and Merriam, the forum is a follow-up to an initial public meeting in October. During the Feb. 6 forum, those attending will learn how public input received during the earlier event has been incorporated into new ideas for the area around Shawnee Mission Parkway and Nieman Road. In addition, MARC and city officials hope to receive further input on transit, economic development and aesthetic issues to assist with the ongoing planning effort.
The effort is part of MARC’s Creating Sustainable Places Initiative.
