City to postpone Shawnee Landing Project public hearings
Two public hearings scheduled for Monday’s Shawnee City Council meeting will be postponed until March 23.
The hearings are in regards to the Shawnee Landing project at Shawnee Mission Parkway and Maurer. One hearing is for the creation of a Transportation Development District on the proposed Shawnee Landing site. The second hearing is to consider approving a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Project Plan for the site.
The developer on the Shawnee Landing Project, however, has requested the additional time in order to refine anticipated costs and revenues for the project, said Dan Ferguson, the city’s communications manager.
Ferguson said since legal notices had been published already regarding the hearings, they will still be opened at the council meeting, but will then be immediately closed without discussion.
The rescheduled hearings will be held during the council’s regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30 p.m. March 23 at City Hall, 11110 Johnson Drive.
