Brull, Bower pace SMNW swimming in dual against SM East

April 1, 2016

The duo of Hailey Brull and Meaghan Bower paced the Shawnee Mission Northwest girls swim team in a dual against SM East, Thursday at SM Northwest.

Brull won the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly with respective times of 2:15.88 and 59.49. Bower was right behind Brull as the runner-up in both events — clocking in at 2:18.76 in the 200 IM and 1:01.16 in the 100 butterfly.

Elina Rauvala and Paige Eichkorn joined Brull and Bower on the 200 freestyle relay team that took first place with a time of 1:48.10.

The Lancers' depth proved to be too much for the Cougars, though, in the head-to-head meet. East defeated SM Northwest, 129-56.

The Cougars will remain home again on Monday for their senior night against De Soto, Mill Valley and Olathe South. The first event is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
