Leavenworth — Blake Allen, Joe Bultman and Christian Ghilardi all finished in the top five to lead Shawnee Mission Northwest's boys golf team to first place Thursday at the Leavenworth Invitational at Trails West Golf Course.

Allen shot a round of a 2-under 69 to win the tournament by seven strokes. The SM Northwest senior was 1-over par through the first nine, and only had a one shot lead over Christ Prep Academy's Garrett Clark.

Allen caught fire for the rest of the round, though, and was the only player to shoot under par for the final nine holes.

Bultman tied with Clark for second place, carding a round of 76. Ghilardi was one stroke behind Bultman to finish alone in fourth.

The Cougars won the team title by 14 strokes over SM East.

McMillin paces SM North

Jon McMillin fired a round of 106 to lead SM North to a seventh-place team finish.

McMillin tied for 27th overall, and Cole Clifford tied for 31st with a round of 108.
