Johnson County Election Office in need of poll workers
The Johnson County Election Office reports it is in urgent need of more than 2,000 election workers to serve voters at Johnson County polls during both the Aug. 2 primary and Nov. 8 general elections.
Election workers who work at a polling place are provided a stipend of at least $135 for their public service on each Election Day. Election workers must be registered voters in Johnson County, and be registered in the election worker pool. They also must complete training in order to receive a polling place assignment from the Election Office.
Workers must be available for the entire Election Day, beginning at least one hour prior to the opening of the polls. Voting in the August primary will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Presidential election polls in November will open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
