Rotary Club of Shawnee announces scholarship winner
The Rotary Club of Shawnee recently named Annabelle Dillon, a senior at Mill Valley High School, as the winner of its first annual Dan Cook Memorial STEM scholarship.
The $1,000 prize is awarded to high school seniors who either attend high school in Shawnee or reside in Shawnee and plan to pursue a higher education in a science-, technology-, engineering- or math-related field.
The scholarship is named to honor Dan Cook, the Rotary Club’s president, who died last year.
Dillon will be attending Kansas State University in the fall, where she plans to major in microbiology in the pre-med program. She will receive her scholarship and speak to the club on May 13.
