Seth Bowman, Jack Lammers and Josh Sherfy all scored in the first half to give the Cougars their 3-0 advantage. The match was called at halftime due to lightning. It was an official match since one half was completed.

The Cougars (4-1) will take on Lawrence High at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Shawnee Mission Soccer Complex.

Mill Valley ends match with Aquinas in 1-1 tie

Inclement weather also ended Mill Valley's match with St. Thomas Aquinas after one half on Tuesday. The Jaguars and Saints played to a 1-1 tie.

Jake Ashford found the back of the net for Mill Valley, as the Jaguars earned their first tie of the season.

The Jaguars (3-2-1) will be back in action when they host at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22 against Blue Valley West.

SM North's match suspended with Leavenworth

Shawnee Mission North was three minutes and 42 seconds away from earning a victory over Leavenworth before the match was suspended by Mother Nature.
