The St. James Academy boys golf team won the Jaguar Invitational on Tuesday at Prairie Highlands Golf Course behind individual champion Will Wilk. Mill Valley and De Soto placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the team standings.

Emma Plake cranked a three-run home run for De Soto in Game 2 of the Wildcats’ doubleheader on Tuesday against Ottawa, but it was not enough to prevent a sweep against the Cyclones. St. James suffered a sweep at the hands of Blue Valley Southwest. Shawnee Mission Northwest was shut out by Olathe East.
Baseball roundup: Bramlage throws first no-hitter in St. James history

St. James senior Tanner Bramlage came out on top in a pitcher’s duel against Blue Valley Southwest’s Patrick McClure on Tuesday, and tossed the first no-hitter in the Thunder’s history. Bramlage and the Thunder edged BV Southwest, 1-0, as the Northwestern Oklahoma A&M signee struck out 13 and only walked one. Mill Valley’s Dawson Cantwell and Maranatha’s Nate Burdette both threw one-hitters to lead the Jaguars and Eagles to respective victories over BV West and Heritage Christian. Shawnee Mission Northwest senior Dylan Nedved and his step-mother, Angelique Nedved, helped the Cougars’ cause to strike out breast cancer in their win over SM West. De Soto split a doubleheader against Ottawa. Shawnee Mission North fell to Olathe East.

Maranatha senior Kayla Crowder continued her scoring tear with all four of the Eagles’ goals in their 4-1 victory over Van Horn. Brooke Haley scored twice to fuel the Shawnee Mission Northwest girls soccer team to a 2-1 victory over SM East on Tuesday. Two first-half goals for Blue Valley Southwest in a five-minute span doomed St. James in a 2-0 loss to the Timberwolves. Shawnee Mission North fell to Olathe Northwest after Mia Haake and Sophia LaTorella scored for the Ravens. One night after a big shutout victory over Turner, Mill Valley found itself on the other end of the spectrum after a 5-0 loss to Blue Valley West.
