St. James alumnae Gray, Fitzmorris fully focused as Stanford gears up for Final Four in KC

The last time the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship was in Kansas City, St. James Academy alumnae and Stanford sophomores Jenna Gray and Audriana Fitzmorris sat in the crowd as 12-year-olds when Penn State won its fourth straight title in 2010. Flash forward seven years later, and Gray and Fitzmorris have gone from the Sprint Center seats to the court as they prepare to take on Florida at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Final Four.
SMN girls hoops falls to Blue Valley in double OT; North boys come up short against Tigers

Shawnee Mission North sophomore LeLe Love stuffed the stat sheet again with 31 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks, four assists and two steals, but the Indians fell to Blue Valley in double overtime, 66-61, on Tuesday. The SM North boys then lost to the Tigers, 54-46.
SMNW’s Nachbar brings energy in win over SM South

Shawnee Mission Northwest senior Jordann Nachbar has never been one to focus on leading the Cougars in different statistical categories. With the Cougars trailing by three points against SM South at halftime on Tuesday, Nachbar knew that she needed to lead the team in an area that doesn’t appear on the stat sheet. Nachbar prides herself on playing with energy, and she did just that in the Cougars’ 55-46 win over the Raiders. The energy from Nachbar ended up leading to a big statistical night, too, as she finished with 26 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block.
