- Blue Valley Northwest was able to capitalize on two Shawnee Mission Northwest errors during a four-run third inning, as the Huskies handed the Cougars a 6-1 loss in the Class 6A regional championship game on Monday. The Cougars defeated SM South, 10-5, earlier Monday in the regional semifinals.

- Having scored 93 goals in her career at Maranatha Christian Academy, senior Kayla Crowder has more than left her mark on the Eagles soccer program. While the individual achievements have built up for the William Jewell signee over the past four years, the most meaningful accomplishment for Crowder came on Monday in the Eagles’ 14-0 victory over Bishop Ward. The rout of Cyclones marked the first postseason victory in program history, and the Eagles’ first 10-win season. Maranatha will play tonight’s winner of Bishop Miege and Kansas City Christian on Thursday in the regional final.

- St. James Academy’s boys golf team placed five golfers in the top 15 to win Monday’s Class 5A regional tournament at Shawnee Country Club in Topeka. The Thunder’s state-qualifying team was comprised of Will Wilk, Frankie Failoni, Jordan Klis, Connor Plattner, Grant Eaton and Matt Surface. De Soto’s Daniel Lee also qualified individually for Monday’s 5A state tournament in Salina. Mill Valley will look to join Lee and the Thunder at the 5A state tournament, as the Jaguars are competing at today’s regional at Tomahawk Hills. Shawnee Mission Northwest junior C.C. Ghilardi and sophomore Joe Bultman qualified individually for the 6A state tournament, which will take place Monday in Wichita. Maranatha’s Chris Toomay rounded out the state qualifiers from the Shawnee area after punching his ticket to the 2A tournament, which will be held Monday in Garden City.

- Shawnee Mission Northwest and SM North’s softball seasons both came to an end on Monday, as top-seeded Olathe East came through the Class 6A regional at the College Boulevard Activities Complex. The Cougars upended the Indians, 12-2, in the regional semifinals before falling to the Hawks, 6-0, in the final.
