The Rotary Club of Shawnee offers 2018 community service scholarships

February 6, 2018

The Rotary Club of Shawnee will honor three high school seniors who have a record of outstanding community service.

Three scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to qualifying students who either reside in the city of Shawnee or who attend a public or private high school there.

Applications will be judged by club members. Family members of Rotarians are ineligible. Winners will be guests at the club’s regular Friday breakfast meeting on 7 a.m. on May 4 at Shawnee Town Hall.

At that time, winners will tell the club about themselves, their community service, and their college plans.

Applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered no later than April 9.

Each scholarship will be paid directly to the post-secondary school after the student has enrolled.

Scholarships may be used at the post-secondary school of the student’s choice and they do not need to be used during the 2018-2019 school year.
