St. James guards Mary Goetz and Torri Kempf combined for 33 points, but the Thunder lost a nail-biter to Blue Valley, 49-48. Goetz led the Thunder with 18 points, and Kempf added 15 on five 3-pointers. Maranatha couldn’t keep pace with Van Horn in a 56-22 loss to the Falcons.

Monday marked another record-breaking night for Maranatha Christian Academy’s boys basketball team after the Eagles’ 94-75 win over Van Horn. The Eagles broke the school’s single-season scoring record, and also broke MCA’s single-game scoring record for the second time this season. Jonathan Jackson paced the Eagles with 31 points and 10 rebounds. St. James also had one of its best offensive games of the season on Saturday in its 67-45 victory over Father Tolton Catholic.
