Annual St. Joseph Church table on March 4 to benefit needy families
The 26th annual St. Joseph Table and Pasta Dinner at St. Joseph Church, 11311 Johnson Dr., will be March 4 in McDevitt Hall (church basement).
The Rev. Mike Hawken will bless the table at 8:30am; the viewing will take place be until 2 p.m.
The table will feature donated home-baked breads, cookies, pies and cakes, candies, fruit, wine, floral arrangements and religious articles that may be purchased.
A pasta dinner, prepared by the men of St. Joseph parish, will be served from 11am to 3pm.
The dinner’s menu will include marinated fresh vegetable salad, garlic bread, Spumoni ice cream, homemade Italian cookies, coffee, tea, lemonade and wine.
There is no set charge for the dinner, but donations will be accepted.
All proceeds from the purchase of table items and the dinner will benefit the needy in the community.

The custom of St. Joseph tables began centuries ago in gratitude to St. Joseph for his intercession in answering prayers for deliverance from famine.
To carry on the tradition today, members of St. Joseph Church prepare an ornately decorated table with its home-baked goods and other items for purchase.
