Overland Park man critically injured in motorcycle crash
A 25-year-old Overland Park man was critically injured when he was thrown from his motorcycle Wednesday afternoon on Kansas Highway 7 in Shawnee.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash occurred about 4 p.m. in the southbound lanes of K-7 over the Kansas River, just inside Shawnee.
Troopers say two motorcycles were riding side-by-side on southbound K-7 when one of them hit debris in the road and he was ejected from the 2017 Harley-Davidson XL1200C he was riding. He was not wearing a helmet.
Johnson County Med-Act reported the man had critical injuries, including trauma to his head. He was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in critical condition.
