JCCC hosts financial planner sharing socially conscious investment strategies

January 23, 2018

Is it possible to invest with a conscience and still make money?

Eric Dilts, a financial advisor and planner, will share how investors can follow their values during two presentations at Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Blvd, Overland Park.

Dilts presents “Socially Conscious Investing” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 8, in Polsky Theatre, located in the Carlsen Center.

As part of the Polsky Practical Personal Enrichment Series, Dilts will discuss:

  • Identifying ways to shift investments to match your social values

  • Determining how corporate activities align with your personal investing values

  • Talking to your financial planner about a socially responsible portfolio

The presentation is free and open to public.

Attendees may enjoy light refreshments and socializing before the program.

No tickets or reserved parking are being offered, but RSVPs are appreciated for planning purposes.

Email or call 913-469-3835 to reserve your seat.

Prior to his current position at Morgan Stanley, Dilts was director of the Sustainable Business Center, an 80,000-square-foot business incubator in Galesburg, Ill., that focused on supporting sustainability-related entrepreneurship development.

Drawing on that experience, he will present “Sustainable Investing 101” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. that same day.

The general public is invited to join JCCC students in learning about the definition and importance of sustainable investing.

Dilts will then identify ways to invest sustainably.

No RSVP is needed; just arrive early to the CoLab, Room 100 of the Office and Classroom Building (OCB), to ensure seating.

The Polsky Practical Personal Enrichment Series is underwritten by the Norman and Elaine Polsky Family Supporting Foundation within the Greater Kansas City Community

Foundation in partnership with JCCC and includes topics not being offered elsewhere.
