- Despite rallying from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter, St. James Academy’s boys basketball team fell to St. Thomas Aquinas, 55-53, after T.J. Williams-Bey’s game-winning jumper with five seconds remaining. Drew Nusbaum scored a game-high 26 points for the Saints. Casey Worley led a trio of St. James players in double figures with 18. Jake Dunsmore and Jack Moellers added 16 and 12 points, respectively.

- The Mill Valley, De Soto, SM Northwest and Maranatha Christian Academy boys basketball teams were all victorious on Tuesday. Mill Valley won for the third time in the last four games after defeating Blue Valley Southwest, 67-41. The Jaguars have scored at least 67 points in all three victories during the four-game stretch. De Soto got back to the .500 mark with a 71-61 win over Baldwin. The Wildcats jumped out to a 19-8 lead in the first quarter to set the pace early. Shawnee Mission Northwest won its second straight game after outlasting Olathe South, 51-46. Maranatha Christian Academy extended its winning streak to seven games with a 57-53 victory over Sherwood. Shawnee Mission North owned a one-point lead after three quarters, but fell Olathe West, 71-53. St. James Academy erased an 11-point fourth quarter deficit, but fell to St. Thomas Aquinas, 55-53, after T.J. Williams-Bey knocked down a game-winning jumper with five seconds remaining. - The Mill Valley girls basketball team pushed its winning streak to five games, and Shawnee Mission North won its second straight game to highlights girls hoops action on Tuesday in the Shawnee area. Mill Valley rolled to a 53-39 win over Blue Valley Southwest, while SM North outlasted Olathe West, 60-51. De Soto’s Mackenzie Shupe netted 20 points, but the Wildcats couldn’t slow down Abby Ogle and Baldwin in a 58-45 loss to the Bulldogs. Maranatha wasn’t able to overcome a slow start in its 51-37 loss to Sherwood.
