The Cougars clipped Olathe South, 27-21, in overtime, while the Eagles shut out Crest, 66-0. St. James came up short against Blue Valley West, 35-32. Mill Valley was unable to keep pace with Bishop Miege in a 40-7 loss. Shawnee Mission North fell to Free State, 62-0.

The De Soto football team shut out Turner, 56-0, on Friday to improve to 3-0 on the season. Jackson Miller threw touchdown passes to Tyson Priddy and Keegan Sturdy, and also ran for a score. Dallas Williams led the DHS defense with two interceptions — including a pick six.

St. James Academy’s Allison Comer earned her second straight second-place finish after firing a round of 80 to be the runner-up at the BV Cup on Thursday at Eagles Landing Golf Course. De Soto junior tennis player Issa Sullivan picked up a signature win while making her season debut on Wednesday at the Baldwin Invitational. Sullivan won the tournament after rallying to defeat three-time Class 4A state champion Brooklyn Hunter, 8-7 (6), after facing a 4-0 deficit against the Hayden senior. De Soto senior Bailey Ramsdell added a third-place finish at No. 2 singles. Ramsdell highlighted the Spring Hill quad for the Wildcats on Monday after winning at No. 1 singles with a 2-1 record.
