Samuel W. "Woody" Ensor 1919 - 2010 Shawnee
Local services for Samuel W. “Woody” Ensor, 90, Shawnee, were Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. An out-of-state visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Burgee-Henss Funeral Home, Baltimore, Md. Burial will be in Lorraine Park Cemetery, Baltimore.
Mr. Ensor died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Lakeside Hospital, Omaha, Neb.
He was born Feb. 24, 1919, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel T. Ensor.
Mr. Ensor graduated in 1941 from the Maryland Art Institute, Baltimore, where he completed postgraduate work a year later.
He worked as a graphic artist for Davis Paint Co., Baltimore, MD, Seidlitz/Colony Paint Co., Lenexa, KS and retired in 1989 from Colony Paint Co., which later became Valspar. In 1974, he was a member of the Shawnee Civic Arts Commission, and designed the city seal for Shawnee.
He married the love of his life, Frances Leo, on July 31, 1948. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah M. and her husband, John M. Kukula.; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Josephine Gischel; and a sister-in-law, Victoria Carroll.

I think it’s important. I do love and use the paths, but it would be nice to have lanes so we could use bikes to run errands - saving gas!
