Services for Floyd Pershing Wright, 89, Ottawa, Kan., were Saturday, June 7, at Antioch Church of the Nazarene, Overland Park. Burial was in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
Mr. Wright died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, Kan.
He was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Greenfield, Mo., the son of Ewing Arthur and Dicy Elizabeth (Kimbler) Wright. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the Johnson County Waste Water District in 1986.
His wife, Mary Aileen (Hull) Wright, died March 2, 1991. A daughter, Sharon Wright, and a grandson also died earlier.
Surviors include his wife, Wilma (Colvin) Wright, of the home; four daughters, Glenda Henson and Ann Baker, both of Mission, Wanda Wright, Merriam, and Stacy Wright, Cary, N.C.; a son, Larry, Shawnee; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous stepchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Antioch Church of the Nazarene, 7600 Antioch, Overland Park, KS 66204.
