Mass of Christian Burial for Matthew F. Orr, 92, Overland Park, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, Overland Park. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Cemetery, Herington, Kan.
Mr. Orr died Friday, June 20, 2008, at John Knox Village Care Center, Lee's Summit, Mo.
He was born Oct. 5, 1915, in Herington, the son of Amor C. and Bettie (Biehler) Orr. He was a self-employed consulting engineer.
He was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America and the Knights of Columbus.
His first wife, Helen Louise Orr, died earlier.
Survivors include his wife, Florence (Easterday) Orr; three daughters, Sharon Orr, Phoe-nix, Betsy Dodson, Lee's Summit, Mo., and Patricia (James) Ascheman, Liberty, Mo.; a son, Matthew F. Jr., Huntsville, Ala.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six stepchildren, Michael Easterday, Lawrence, Kan., Mary Jo Husten, Bellview, Neb., Mar-tha Hammontree, Columbus, Ohio, James Easterday, Overland Park, Cathy Dodge, Sa-lina, Kan., and Susie Cannon, Overland Park; and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, where a rosary recitation will be at 7 p.m.
