Charles Keith Franks 1916 - 2008 Lenexa
Memorial services for Charles Keith Franks, 92, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Old Mission United Methodist Church 5519 State Park Road, Fairway.
He died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Lake View Village Care Center, Lenexa.
Mr. Franks was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Coldwater, Kan.
He was a World War II Air Force veteran. He received his bachelor's degree in 1938 at Southwestern College, Winfield, Kan., and later earned a master's degree at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., and a juris doctorate at the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
He was a member of the Missouri Bar and was admitted into the Kansas Bar Association at the time of his retirement.
Mr. Franks was senior vice president in charge of the trust department at the Merchants Bank in Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of the Old Mission United Methodist Church and had served as a past chairman of the board. Keith was a woodcarver, square dancer, water color artist, history buff, rose gardener, baseball fan, bridge player and story teller.
He met his beloved wife of 64 years, Beulah, in Baxter Springs, Kan., while teaching school. She died Nov. 21, 2007.
Survivors include a son, Will (Gayle) Franks, Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Tia Franks, Prairie Village; a brother, Kermit (Faye) Franks; a sister, Kathleen; Seattle; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren
