John M. Stous 1941 - 2008 Lenexa

Services for John M. Stous, 93, Lenexa, were Tuesday, May 13, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, with burial at Holton Cemetery, Holton, Kan.
Mr. Stous died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Lakeview Village Care Center, Lenexa.
He was born Aug. 31, 1914, at Holton, the son of William and Nellie Meck Stous, He graduated from Holton High School in 1932, attended a business college and worked for a Chevrolet dealership before World War II. During the war he was employed at the Lake City Ordinance Plant.
On Nov. 22, 1941, he married Erma Snyder. They traveled widely and made many friends while square dancing. They belonged to the Mission Slide Club.
He was a member for more than 50 years of the former Meyer Blvd. United Methodist Church, where he served faithfully in many ways including treasurer for 10 years. He volunteered in the Tax Preparation Program for senior citizens and also delivered Meals on Wheels for seven years.
His working years were spent as accountant and office manager with automotive agencies. He retired from O'Neill Oldsmobile and Honda in 1979.
He had been a resident of the Care Center of Lakeview Village since March 2006. Survivors include his wife, Erma.
The family suggests memorials to the Care Center in care of the Lakeview Village Foundation, 9100 Park, Lenexa, KS 66215.
