Edith Arvella Stewart 1929 - 2011 Leavenworth
Services for Edith “Arlie” Stewart will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. A visitation was Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Stewart died at home on Christmas Eve in Leavenworth.
She was born on July 10, 1929, in California, and moved to Nevada, Mo., when she was 15. She married Martin Edward Stewart in May of 1948. Together they moved to Bonner Springs, where they raised four children.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward Stewart, and an infant son, Michael Glen Stewart.
She is survived by her four children, Candy Weir and husband Bill of Shawnee, Rick Stewart and husband Aida of Lenexa, Kathy McClellan and husband Bill of Leavenworth, and Marcia Kelling and husband Craig of Lenexa; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Disabled Veterans of America in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St. Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
