Shawnee police officer Tom Hayselden takes a souvenir photo of a Bike Rodeo participant behind the wheel of the police department's display interceptor car. The vehicle, which is used mostly for displays such as at Saturday's Bike Rodeo, was seized several years ago from a drug dealer.
Charley Vogt, master of ceremonies, announces the winner of one of several premium prizes given by program co-sponsors. Former Rotary president Kevin Tubbesing also helped. His daughter, Nicole, 7, drew the names from the box. Splash, the Whale Spout Car Wash mascot, also put in an appearance, as did Sizzle, the Kansas City T-Bones mascot, and Ronald McDonald.
Once the young riders had completed all the stations, they stopped at the Shawnee Police Department's booth to have their picture taken for a special photo ID. Here, Officer Joe Lawless gets a photo of Drew McGee, 11, of Shawnee.
