People gathered Friday, July 14, in Flanders Park for the first of Shawnee's Summer Concerts. More concerts are scheduled July 28 and Aug. 11.
The band, Retroactive, offered a mix of music from the 80s and later. From left are bassist Dave Ramsey, guitarist Jamie Moon and vocalists Shenon Bone and Matt Fuhrman. (Other band members not pictured: Doug Ramsey, keyboards, and Marc Lancaster, drums.)
All ages came to see and listen to the concert.

Most of those who came to the concert, held on a day when the mercury was in the high 90s, picked spots in the shad.
And then a few of the concertgoers, like these girls, brought their shade with them.
Some of the concertgoers, though, seemed to prefer the sun.
