The hunters, home from the hill: In 1908, family members Richard Vanden Broecke, Germaine Van Hoet, Ben and Florent Vanden Broecke gathered after a hunt for a photograph. Mary Ann Van Hoet Markle contributed the photo for the "Pictorial History of Shawnee" book, which is now on sale for $39.95 plus tax at the Shawnee Dispatch office. The books are also on sale at the Visitor Center at Shawnee Town, 11505 W. 57th St., and at the Johnson County Museum of History, 6305 Lackman Rd.
