Finally, about 6:30 p.m., it was time for Santa and Mrs. Claus to make their way from Town Hall to the festivities in front of City Hall. Santa, of course, stopped to talk with the children along the way.
Evelyn Van Kemseke, founder and chief executive of Shawnee Community Services, accepts a check for $5,020 from Shawnee Mayor Jeff Meyers. The check represents donations to the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund. It was presented at Christmas Around Town Saturday night in Shawnee.
