Rick Singers of De Soto watches as workers at Bishop's Pine Crest Tree Farm try to load a 15-foot Austrian Pine on a tree-shaking machine. Singers said they have been coming to the Linwood farm to get their family Christmas tree for about 10 years. "We always get a big tree. That's all the kids have ever known," said Singers.
Martin Gilmore carries his freshly cut tree back to the front area of Bishop's Tree Farm. Gilmore said that his family "had to find the perfect tree located at the furthest point from the front entrance."
After cutting down their tree, Martin Gilmore trims the trunk end while his wife Kelly and son Jack watch nearby. The Shawnee family decided to go for a fresh tree this year by cutting their own recently at Bishop's Crest Tree Farm in Linwood.
