A semi truck ended up facing the wrong way on a ramp between Shawnee Mission Parkway and Kansas Highway 7 on Thursday morning after the brake line on the semi broke, which locked the brakes up and caused the truck to slide on the snow-covered roadway. According to Shawnee Police Capt. Dan Tennis, officers responded to numerous "slide-offs with no damage" following the overnight rain and snow. Only about five accidents with damage had been reported by midday, though Tennis said it seemed "heck of a lot busier than that." It was a "brutal morning for officers," he said, adding that, "dealing with the wind and blowing snow takes its toll on them, too."

The new Shawnee Police Interceptor Tauruses look awesome! Those air lines are very brittle when it gets cold out, easy to break.
