Shawnee Mission Northwest alumnus Hayden Goodpaster (80) celebrates after a touchdown catch with St. Thomas Aquinas product Drew Hicks in the second quarter of the Kansas All-Stars' 30-0 win over Missouri in the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association All-Star Game on Thursday at Leavenworth. Goodpaster caught the pass from Mill Valley alumnus Brody Flaming, who earned MVP honors for the Kansas team.

Shawnee-area football players propel Kansas All-Stars to 30-0 win in GKCFCA All-Star Game

The Kansas All-Stars snapped a seven-game losing streak to Missouri in the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association All-Star Game with the help of 11 Shawnee-area players. Mill Valley alumnus Brody Flaming was named the Kansas MVP after throwing touchdown passes to Shawnee Mission Northwest product Hayden Goodpaster and former St. Thomas Aquinas standout Joseph Clune. Northwest alumnus Travis Morrison helped highlight the shutout with 1.5 sacks. St. James product Jack Petz led Kansas with 45 rushing yards. De Soto alumnus Bryce Mohl scored on a touchdown run. Before the game, fellow DHS product Jack Barger was the Kansas recipient of the Ronald Warren Award — which goes to the most outstanding linebacker in the state. Other area alumni who played were Ike Valencia (Mill Valley), Evan Rice (MV), Trevor Watts (De Soto), Zach Titus (DHS) and Parker Kelley (St. James).
