St. James Academy freshman Ryne Cokeley (center) won first-place in the 119-pound weight division at state wrestling Saturday.

Looking to make sure the cross bar stayed in place, SMNW senior Christen Botteron couldn't help but smile after clearing a new personal best and school record 11-feet, 6-inches at the Shawnee Mission North Relays on Friday.
