Albert and Mary Henke of Shawnee celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 2 with a reception hosted by their children at the Shawnee Civic Centre. Albert Henke and Mary Haas were married Sept. 13, 1947, at St. Joseph Church in Shawnee. Mr. Henke, who retired after a career with Western Auto Supply Co., was a tail gunner on a B-17 during World War II. Mrs. Henke worked as a bookkeeper for Western Auto and other area businesses. The Henkes have four children, Nancy, Marsha, Don and Sharon, and five grandchildren. The couple requests no gifts.
