St. James' Allie Webb throws the discus on Friday at the Shawnee Mission North Relays. Webb took second with a throw of 119 feet, 9 inches. She also took second in the javelin.
Mill Valley's Gabby Hopkins throws the shot put on Friday. It was Hopkins' third throw and she set a new personal record with a put of 45 feet, 2.5 inches, winning the event by more than three feet over the second-place finisher. Last week at Gardner-Edgerton, Hopkins set a personal best with a throw of 41 feet, 7.75 inches.
