Mill Valley uses double play to defeat Bishop Miege

When Mill Valley and Bishop Miege have met on the athletic field of competition this year, the games have produced dramatic plays. During football season, in district play Bishop Miege trailed late in the game. The Stags completed a long pass to the two-yard line and the receiver got out of bounds. The Stags thought there were a couple seconds left on the clock. The referee ruled no time was left, and Mill Valley won.
Mill Valley Boys team places second in meet

Shawnee Mission West won the Mill Valley Invitational with 152 points. Mill Valley placed second with 112 points . Mark Grinstead threw 142-feet-7 in the discus to win the event. Shawn Stene placed third with a toss of 124-3.5. Chris Mayer of Mill Valley placed fourth with a throw of 118-11. Matt Huderle placed sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 37-0.

Team scores 258 points with athletes scoring in every event at meet

With multiple girls placing in numerous events and standout performances by a few athletes, the Mill Valley girls track and field team crushed the competition during its home invitational on Thursday. “I thought for the weather conditions our kids competed very well,” coach Mark Peck said. “It was wet, cold and cool. I was pleased with some of our marks and times.” The Jaguars scored 258 points and defeated the second place De Soto, who finished with 89 points.
