Shawnee Mission Northwest boys basketball coach Ben Meseke instructs his team during a timeout during the 2009 Class 6A substate championship game. Meseke guided the Cougars to a fourth-place finish at state in 2009, but he will step away from the sideline this season to deal with health issues.
